SUV crashes into room at Fort Worth nursing home

A Fort Worth nursing home resident was injured when a driver crashed a car into their room Wednesday morning.

MedStar officials said the resident was asleep when the SUV crashed into the Southwest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in the 5300 block of Altamesa Boulevard just before 6 a.m.

The resident was taken to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth with minor injuries, according to MedStar.

Authorities say the driver had just dropped off a resident in the parking lot of the nursing home and accidentally put the SUV in reverse, crashing into the building.

Police said the driver won’t be charged.
